GMAT Math 5 Tips for Data Sufficiency Questions

GMAT Math 5 Tips for Data Sufficiency Questions GMAT MBA Admissions Blog GMAT Data Sufficiency problems present you with some initial information and a question, followed by two statements. You have to decide whether the information contained in each statement is sufficient, when combined with the initial information, to give a definite answer to the question. In this case, a definite answer means being able to answer either “definitely yes” or “definitely no” to the question. If you can only answer “definitely maybe” then the statement is not sufficient by itself. If neither statement is sufficient by itself to give a definite answer, you then evaluate whether the two statements taken together are sufficient to find a definite answer. Some questions involve solving for a value; for these questions, a statement is sufficient if it allows you to solve for one, but no more than one, value. In case you haven’t seen a Data Sufficiency question before, here’s an example: If x is even and y is a positive integer, is the sum of x and y an odd integer? 1) x is a negative integer 2) the square of y is an even integer Notice that since we already know that x is even, the only way for the sum of x and y to be odd is for y itself to be odd. So we can rephrase the question as “Is y an odd integer?” Statement 1 is irrelevant. The fact that x is negative tells us nothing about whether y is odd or even. So statement 1 is insufficient to answer the question. Statement 2 is a different story. If y-squared is an even integer, that tells us that y itself is an even integer. Therefore we can answer “definitely not” to the question “is y an odd integer”, and statement 2 by itself is sufficient. Here’s a list of tips to help you in solving GMAT Data Sufficiency questions: It’s helpful if you can restate the question in simpler terms (as we did in the example above). Plugging in example numbers is also helpful. However, be careful not to make unwarranted assumptions about the kind of numbers you can plug in. For example, if the initial information in a question specifies that the quantity n is less than zero, be careful not to assume that n is necessarily an integer. Integers probably jump most readily to mind when making up examples, but data sufficiency questions often deal with non-integer values as well. Quickly look at both statements and try to evaluate which one will be easier to analyze. If statement 2 looks easier than statement 1, then test statement 2 first. If the first statement you test seems insufficient, remember to “forget” that statement when you move on to test the other statement. You have to test each statement alone for sufficiency before you test whether the statements are sufficient when combined together. On the other hand, if you feel really stuck on a Data Sufficiency question, go ahead and combine the statements to see if they’re sufficient together to answer the question. HOWEVER, if they are sufficient together, you STILL need to look carefully and see if there’s any way to take just one of the statements by itself and find a definite answer to the question. This is a risky technique if you don’t have enough practice in separating the statements in your thoughts. But if you’re careful, it can pay off by making it easier to see how to restate the question or find the key connection between the statements and the initial information.

A Guide For Having People Over In Your Small Space

A Guide For Having People Over In Your Small Space Image: Kelsey Chance via https://unsplash.com/photos/ZrhtQyGFG6s Keep it clean Even though you have a crazy schedule as a student, it is important to keep your dorm or apartment clean. Unnecessary clutter only makes your already limited space that much tighter, especially if you have items on tables or couches where your friends are meant to be. You also do not want friends and classmates to think you are a slob. If you find yourself in this situation, plan to clean up one section of your apartment or dorm each day. That way, you do not feel as overwhelmed about having to clean everything at once and you can do it in small chunks that fit with your schedule. While working on class assignments and studying, throw some laundry in so that your clothes are not piling up. If you have to, take your textbooks to your apartment’s laundromat and study there while your clothes are being cleaned. Coordinate schedules with your roommate(s) If you have a roommate, it is crucial that you check with them to make sure they do not have people coming over or other plans to use the apartment or dorm. Nothing makes a small space even smaller than having too many people in it at once. If you have mutual friends, this will not be too much of an issue. However, having two different study groups over at the same time can make your space more cramped. To fix this, have a calendar in a space that you and your roommate share so that you can each write down plans, particularly ones that involved having people over. That way, you will limit the congestion in your apartment. Practical décor As mentioned before, clutter can make your small space feel even smaller. In order to help decrease clutter, use décor that doubles as organizers. For example, make a picture frame key holder so you can hang your keys up as soon as you get home and you know where they are so that you are not scrambling to get out the door. You can decorate old shoeboxes as storage units by decorating them with decorative paper. Make a magnetic bulletin board out of an old cookie sheet to hang up important documents or announcements you want your roommate to be. That way, your apartment looks nice for when people come over. Lighten up a bit Darkness can make your small space appear smaller, so, on the contrary, light can make it appear bigger. This is especially important if you want to have people over. You do not want to feel cramped, especially since more people will add to the congestion. If you have the option to change your wall color, paint it a light color. If not, use ceiling lights and lamps throughout your space to make it appear lighter. Light-colored area rugs and furniture can help out if you are not allowed to paint or change the carpets. Having people over to your small space can seem impossible, but taking advantage of any space you have and decluttering can help increase the space so you and your guests do not feel cramped. Looking for an easy way to furnish your off-campus apartment? Renting furniture from CORT saves you time and money. See how easy it is to get great looking furniture without breaking the bank.

?? 3 Reasons You Should Hire A Tutor For Your Homeschool Child

?? 3 Reasons You Should Hire A Tutor For Your Homeschool Child 3 Reasons You Should Hire A Tutor For Your Homeschool Child There’s many reasons that some parents opt for teaching their children at home. From religious beliefs, to special educational needs, there is a rising number of families who believe their children respond better to the smaller and calmer learning environments of homeschooling and private tuition.Since 2014, the number of children being educated at home in the UK has increased sharply. Whilst still accounting for less than 1% of school age children, around 48,000 children are homeschooled instead of in a school environment. Search for a tutor today to enhance the learning of your homeschool childHomeschooling allows many children to benefit from a more tailored approach to education. Private tutors offer these benefits too. As extra curricular learning to children in school, but also as a core part of the structure for many homeschooled children.Discover 3 reasons to hire a tutor for a homeschool child:1 - Specialist knowledgeTutors have experience and qualifications that give them specialist skills and knowledge. Beyond the basics for exam preparation, homeschool students can benefit from private tuition with a richer and more detailed education than the broad and general knowledge offered by downloadable resources. A tutor’s extensive understanding in a subject can make a more lasting impression with the student and be of more use to their development. Private tutors can use their experience from previous teaching jobs to offer expert advice about the structure of education. Tutors are known for answering questions about exams and what to expect, understanding the particulars of the curriculum, and the most common concerns. Tutoring is a tried and tested method of teaching that offers a more informed process for homeschool students. 2 - Tailored 1-to-1 teachingBoth private tuition and homeschooling create a 1-to-1 learning environment that can be helpful to the development of a student. Compared to the atmosphere of a regular classroom, the more intimate teaching styles means that all of the teacher’s attention is focused on the child they’re working with. All questions and problems can be asked in a direct way and not get missed in the bustle of controlling 30 children at once. With 1-to-1 tuition, any challenges that occur can be highlighted early, and the work easily adapted to accommodate the needs of the student. Tutors are experienced at adapting their learning plans for the specific needs and working styles of private tuition and will happily adjust activity based on a variety of factors, something that a set in stone curriculum cannot do. Many tutors are happy to incorporate a structure a child is used to and responds well with, or resources that have worked for them in the past. 3 - Refresh enthusiasm for learningChildren who are homeschooled can sometimes have a negative relationship with learning. If they’ve had a bad experience in a traditional school, or a family was unsatisfied with the support received in overcoming challenges like SEN, the relationship with education can create extra pressure and discomfort with students. Working with a professional tutor can quickly lead to a positive and healthy attitude towards learning. By encouraging new behaviour and creating happier memories in connection with learning and development, homeschool students can start to enjoy education again. Instead of a parent, a hired tutor offers a trained professional the student can be honest with about what they enjoy, what they understand, and how they feel about learning.Find Your Tutor Today Worried about cost? With Tutorful there are no hidden fees and the price you see on the website is the rate you will pay for each lesson.Search for tutors in your area n ow and filter results based on subject and level of study, and find a tutor that fits the needs of you and your child. How Do I Define Physical Properties in Chemistry?

How Do I Define Physical Properties in Chemistry? When it comes to getting to the bottom of how molecules are defined in chemistry, you have to understand that there are many factors that go into the process. It's all a matter of determining which is best for the process. What do I mean by that? You see, the 'chemical bonding' of an atom or molecule is one thing, and the other is the state of one particular chemical bonding. While one can use the ordinary measure of mass to determine what these are, for convenience and ease, 'electrons' will usually be used. The terms 'mass'electron mass' are sometimes used interchangeably, but are actually distinct concepts. Let's try and understand them. For example, when you're taking an electron from one atom to another, it is a reaction that is 'membrane dependent'. It is a matter of the 'chemical bonds' of the atoms being broken down and the electrons flowing between them, without losing their electron. So the number of electrons flowing will dete rmine how long the reaction takes, as well as the amount of time the reaction takes. It's not really necessary to 'calculate' this - just take a good look at the mass of the molecule and the size of the molecules involved, and you'll know what the properties of the bonds are.If you were to try and calculate chemical bonds by looking at the 'electron mass'mass electron density' of the molecules involved, you might come up with something like 'one mass electron ' for molecules with no large single atoms or long chains of atoms, and 'two masses electrons ' for those with a large number of larger atoms. This could vary quite a bit, depending on how thick the chain of atoms is.Mass electron density can also be defined as being the number of electrons per pound of molecular weight. If you consider some of the larger molecules with lots of atoms, such as water molecules, this might be accurate, as is the case for molecules containing a certain fraction of hydrogen ions.If you look at the r atio of electronegativity to mass and look at the electrical charge of the ion, you will be able to determine whether or not the ions are ionized. How do I know that they are ionized? Well, because the electrons don't want to go where they belong, they just continue to move around randomly. The moment one 'electron' is added to another, the charge of the ion drops. In this way, the entire structure of the system, the components, the atoms and molecules, the chemical bonding, and the chemical reaction are defined.
